Pregame prediction
944/ 1,000
The final score lands Wednesday. The difference is the 3-Spin Bump.
Monday
Memories + Pregame
Before the relisten. Memory is allowed to be wrong.
Demo content. Placeholder memories for the current-week example. Replace with the real Monday post.
This is a record I associate with other people's kitchens. It was always on in a house that was not mine, usually somebody's mom's, usually while something was being cooked. I did not own it until I was in my twenties and by then I knew all of it without ever having sat down with it.
What I think I remember: a perfect first side, "Songbird" as the breather, "The Chain" as the moment everybody stops talking, and a back half I could not sequence if you paid me. I think "Oh Daddy" is the skip. I think "Don't Stop" is a little overrated because of what it became. I am predicting a very high score and I am aware that is partly nostalgia talking. That is allowed. That is the point of Monday.
Tuesday
3-Spin Diary
Three times through. Back-to-back-to-back. Notes as they happened.
Spin 1
Instinct
Demo diary entry. "Second Hand News" has a stomp I had completely forgotten. "Dreams" is still the one. I put "The Chain" on and did the thing where you stop what you are doing.
Spin 2
Discovery
Demo diary entry. Headphones. John McVie is the reason the record breathes. "Never Going Back Again" is a guitar clinic disguised as a two-minute song. The harmony stack on "I Don't Want to Know" is doing more than the lead vocal.
Spin 3
Conviction
Demo diary entry. Three spins in. "Songbird" moved from breather to MVP. "Don't Stop" faded slightly, exactly as predicted. "Oh Daddy" is still the first skip urge but it is a softer urge than I remembered. Podcast Wednesday.
