About
Albums worth another spin.
Respinables is about albums worth another spin. Every week we choose one record, remember what we think we remember about it, listen to it three times back-to-back-to-back, argue about it, score it out of 1,000, and then let everyone tell us why we're wrong.
The score measures respinability, not greatness. Those are different things. A technically imperfect album can be enormously respinable, and some masterpieces you only need to hear once. Over time the scores, the 3-Spin Bumps and the audience verdicts pile up into The Board, which is the part of this we are most excited about.
Respinables is a Bandleadr property. Bandleadr is the bigger universe of music media, shows and projects. Respinables is the first one.
The week
Monday
Memories + Pregame
The album is revealed. Before anyone hits play, we write down what we think we remember: where it takes us, who put it on, the track we loved, the one we skipped, and a predicted score. Memory is allowed to be wrong. That is the point.
Tuesday
3-Spin Diary
The whole record, three times, back-to-back-to-back. Spin one is instinct. Spin two is discovery. Spin three is conviction. Notes as they happen, not a polished review.
Wednesday
The Podcast
The main event. The album gets argued about, drafted, bracketed and played with, then it gets its Respinables Score out of 1,000. The difference between Monday's prediction and Wednesday's score is the 3-Spin Bump.
Thursday
Overreaction
You heard us. Now tell us why we're wrong. Audience score, biggest disagreement, best comments, corrections.
Friday to Sunday
Nothing, on purpose
Catch-up days. Go listen to the record. Silence is part of the rhythm.
Get next week's album Monday morning.
Plus the diary, the podcast and the Overreaction as the week unfolds.
